DaWanda Creative Xmas Decorations Competition

Yikes, I don't blog nearly enough lately! I wish I could say it was because I have been too busy having fun, but unfortunately I have been busy having migraines instead.

I do have time for some fun things though, like participating in the DaWanda Creative Xmas Decorations Competition!

I have gotten into cross stitching lately, so I decided to use that in my ornament. And it had to be pink and red of course!

If you like my ornament, please vote for me on DaWanda's Facebook page. All you need to do is like the image with my ornament, which you can find here. It would mean a lot to me!

A New Workspace

My workspace used to be tiny, not ideal when you want to be able to spread out boxes of charms and beads to make jewelry, so it was time for an upgrade!

This is what my new office / creative space looks like! I used to only have the small desk on the right, so you can imagine how happy I am with the new big table!

My old desk was a Micke from Ikea, and I already had a Micke cabinet for my printer. As all Micke products are the same height, all I needed to buy was another set of Micke drawers and a table top.

I added some Ekby Törre drawers on top, because I like being organized and always need more drawers.

The chair is from Ikea too. I've had it for six years though, and they don't seem to have it anymore.

What does your work space look like?

DaWanda Say It With Clay Competition

A few weeks ago I was asked by DaWanda to join their blogger competition. They would send me a secret package with craft supplies, and I had to make something with it. Sounded like fun, so I was in!

Unfortunately for me, what they sent me was Fimo Clay! If you've been reading my blog for a long time, and saw my post about the bread chickens I made for Easter a few years ago, you will know that making things out of clay is not exactly my forté.

I decided to stick to what I know and make jewelry! I used cookie cutters to cut out the basic shapes, and then stamped on them with the stamps I bought at Hema some time ago.

After that I turned them into necklaces, earrings, rings and brooches. And tadaa...

The finished result! I love how they turned out. If you do too, you can vote for me at the DaWanda fan page on facebook. All you need to do is like this image in their Say It With Clay competion album.

Your votes would mean a lot to me!

A Cake For Baby Isa

Happy news! On September 10th my little baby niece Isa was born! It's so strange to think that 2 and a half years ago my nephew Jelte was just as tiny!

She's adorable and I'm such a proud aunt!

We made this cake in celebration of Isa's birth. I love how it turned out! The pink and white sprinkles are something we eat on bread in the Netherlands (we eat a weird selection of sweet sprinkles on our bread over here!), these are called "Pink & White Mice", and we traditionally eat them on "beschuit" when a baby is born. There's a blue & white variation too of course!

A New Shop

Like I mentioned yesterday, I moved the shop to a new platform. I loved the idea of Magento (the shopping cart system I used before), but I was always busy fixing technical problems, which drove me insane.

So a few months ago I moved the shop to the Luondo system. I LOVE IT. It's so nice to not have to deal with technical stuff anymore! Especially on days I don't feel good it's nice to know that once I have packed my orders, I can relax the rest of the day if I want to. When I was still using Magento there was always something that needed fixing.

I also love the look of the new shop. What do you think?

Yikes! It's been ages since I last blogged! Life, work and health got in the way, so I had to put my blogging on hold for a while.

I haven't been sitting still though. These are the highlights of the last few months...

Lots of fun with my friend Marjolein!

Going to Eurovision with my friend Sarah, and rooting for Holland, Denmark and Sweden.

I moved the shop to a new platform, which means: A gorgeous new website!

Sightseeing in Copenhagen with my cousin Nienke...

A photoshoot at photostudio.

Seeing the Smashing Pumkins on their Greatest Hits tour with Mr.Licious

I don't have a picture of the most exciting news though: My sister is pregnant and about to give birth! Her due date was September 1st, so it can happen any minute now!

I am so happy about becoming an aunt for the second time! I absolutely adore my nephew Jelte, and I can't wait to meet his baby sister!

And there is lots more that made me happy over the past few months:

- Watching movies & TV shows with my lovely friends Mette & Lotte
- Getting into cross stitch
- Relaxing more

All in all, apart from the frequent migraines, life is pretty good lately!

Happy news everyone! I have reopened the Tizzalicious webshop today! The DaWanda & Etsy shops are both open again too.

I really needed the break, but it's also nice to start working again. I always miss my shop a little when it's closed for a while!

Copenhagen Zoo

Lions at Copenhagen Zoo / København Zoo

I need to use my camera some more for things that aren't product pictures, so today me and my lovely Canon EOS 600D went to the zoo!

Baboons at Copenhagen Zoo / København Zoo

I have no words for this one! It only lasted a second, so I am amazed that I caught it!

This cute monkey and the polar bear below are my favorite pictures of the day I think. I love how they turned out.

The baby leopards were SO cute! I cursed the fence that kept us apart!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a fantastic, and safe, New Years Eve! I had a lovely time with some friends. We had a delicious dinner, played games, and watched the fireworks from the balcony. I love looking at fireworks, but I prefer to keep a safe distance!

I took a litte walk earlier today. I love doing that on January first.

The rest of the day will be spent on the couch. I have been reading some blogs, playing video games, and soon I will get out my latest knitting project. Not a bad start of the new year, I think!
