A Pile Of Kokeshi Dolls

I was full of mailman hate earlier today, when he rang the doorbell with a huge package of supplies I'd been waiting for, and wouldn't give me the package because I couldn't pay the €63 customs fee in cash. Why don't mailman here have a machine to take cards? It's 2010! They should go with the times a little, right? The fact that I didn't have to pay €63 didn't even bother me, it was a huge order from outside the EU, so I expected a big fat bill from customs. But the fact that sat at customs for a month (!!!) is quite annoying, and having the mailman in front of my door with it, and still not being able to get it, is just argh!

Kokeshi's

My mailman hate didn't last too long though, because earlier this week he brought me another package, that filled me with mailman love: My order of 100 Kokeshi charms! They are phone charms, but I will be using the charms to create necklaces and keychains.

Kokeshi's

I feel sorry for this one, for losing her hair while she was traveling! I'd better get my E-6000 out and give her her hair back.

Kokeshi's

Aren't they cuuuute? After my Matryoshka obsession (which is still going strong), I seem to have developed a Kokoshi obsession. I guess I just can't resist cute little dolls.

Do you have any obsessions? Or things you seem to get more and more of? Or do you have an "official" collection of anything? When I was little I collected Panda's, then Hanson CD's when I was a teen (you won't believe how many different versions all CD's & Singles have!), and then stationery. I saved a page of each of my sets. I stopped doing that now though, stationery is better to just write on.

These days I don't collect anything, but I do seem to be hoarding certain things like clothes, accessories, books & DVD's, and things with certain themes, like apples & matryoshka's. I also never seem to drop an obsession, I just keep getting more!

  1. They are amazingly cute!!!

And I am annoyed by that as well. Nowadays who has (so much) cash laying around?!

  2. Oh, those are cute, so tiny! I'm not a big fan of dolls, but like you I love the kinds that are made of wood.

I don't really collect anything either now, except maybe some vinyl, but whenever I see something cute and little I just haaave to pick it up (my mom also picks me up a lot of cute things)!

  3. These are so cute! I don't blame you for having a Matryoshka obsession. They're so neat :]

I collect music boxes. They're just so.... amazing. I mean a box or figurine that plays music? Who DOESN'T like them?! I'm sorry about the mailman fiasco :/ That sucks!

  4. When I was young I collected stickers, and I was so compulsive that I organized my stickers into different categories and stored them in little envelopes that I folded out of origami paper. Now I collect things from Asia or that are Asian-inspired and I have four Blythe dolls.

  6. These are just so gorgeous. I love anything Matryoshka too, I quite fancied a duvet cover with them on, but as I am 26 and the one I found was meant for a child's room I didn't buy it.
However, right now I love anything with a bow on it. I am bow obsessed. I try to wear a bow every day. They are so cute and feminine and I love them.

  8. Oh, these are so cute! Matryoshkas are beautiful, I absolutely love them. My obsession is probably earrings - I mean, how many more pairs do I really need? Always one pair more, that's what I say!
