Mission Achieved: Learning How To Knit
Right in time for the end of the year, I mastered the skill of knitting! I have tried to learn how to knit tons of times before, I even blogged about how much I sucked at it. I never seemed to get to hang of it though, until now!
It's still a little bit too right, but it's even, and I learned how to pick up fallen stitches, so no more holes!

Wii!
The boyfriend and I spent our Christmas money on a Wii! We bought it a little before Christmas, so it brought us a lot of joy over the holidays. The best moment of the week was definitely seeing my parents box each other on Wii Sports. Simply hilarious.
This Wii Remote Soap by Digital Soaps would probably make me try to turn on the shower by pointing it at the tap!
Tikikiki hits the nail on its head, hurting myself playing Wii is is very likely to happen to me. My mom also kept worrying that I would knock over the TV or Christmas tree!
Pretty!
What was your best Christmas gift this year?

Gingerbread Cookies
If you don't have time to bake cookies, but you would still like some nice cookies, you can always buy a Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Kit! This is exactly what I did. I had no idea if they would taste good, but I just felt like decorating some cookies for Christmas.
The kit came with cookies and this really gross looking frosting. I added some sprinkles and little silver balls, and ended up with this...

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you will all have a great day with family & loved ones.
This is our nativity scene. We have had it since I was a kid, and Baby Jesus has gone through a lot over the years. First of all, my parents got rid of the glue holding the figures in place, so we could play with them. Play with them we did. We didn't have a Barbie baby, so that was poor Baby Jesus' job. I think he has even seen the inside of their shirts while they were pregnant. The shame!
And another Christmassy shot, just because I love this deer ornament. I spotted them at Hema last year, but didn't buy it. Then 2 weeks later I regretted that of course, but they sold out. This year they had them again though! Joy!

Wrapping Paper
It's already Christmas Eve tonight, have you finished your Christmas shopping? I love shopping for gifts, so I usually start early. I had most of my shopping done by the end of November! My gifts have been brightening up our room since our tree went up, in their colorful Christmas wrapping paper from Hema.

A Winter Wonderland
I love snow. It seems like all of Europe is covered in it at the moment, and I am enjoying it a lot. I guess I am lucky because I don't have to go out in it to get to work or school, and the grocery store is a walking distance away. So to me snow just means enjoying how it looks, while I am inside on the couch with a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
It doesn't snow very often in Holland, so these pictures I took of our backyard on Sunday show a picture that is not very common. Isn't it pretty though? I love the red of the little apples in the tree and the white of the snow together.
I hope it's going to be a white Christmas! The last time we had a white Christmas was in 1981, before I was born!

It's been a busy year, and I could use some rest and relaxation. That's why I have decided to close the shop during the Holidays, starting today. We will be open again on January 4th!

Vreeswijk Bij Kaarslicht
My hometown Nieuwegein is a town created by building a lot of new (and ugly) houses between 2 very cute villages, and turning them into one city. I hate the new parts of the city, but the old villages are still intact, and are a good place to go for a stroll.

The old village closest to where I live is Vreeswijk. Every year in the middle of December, Vreeswijk bij Kaarslicht (Vreeswijk by Candle Light) is held. All the lights in the village are turned off, and thousands of candles and tealights in empty glass jars are lit. I try to go every year, because it's such a nice atmosphere.

This years' Vreeswijk bij Kaarslicht was 2 days ago. I didn't get to go (I had a fun reason though, picking up the boyfriend at the airport!), but I wanted to share some pictures of the event I found online anyway, to show you what it's like.
