So Retro: My First Treasury!

With a bit of patience I managed to get a treasury room at Etsy! I chose a Retro theme, because I love everything retro and 50's myself.

Who taught you how to sew, or do any other craft you do? My mom taught me how to sew when I was little. My sister and I spent ours making Barbie clothes using only the wheel on the machine because the pedal was too dangerous.

A few years later, when I was actually allowed to use the pedal, my mom and I made a fantastic outfit for me together, I wish I had a proper picture of it. I'm still happy she taught me how to sew!

When I started sewing Blythe dresses I figured it'd be easy. If I could sew Barbie clothes when I was 8, surely I would be able to make little Blythe outfits now
too? I guess I didn't count in the fact that maybe I had lower standards back then! Or maybe sewing tiny clothes is easier with tiny fingers?

My Latest and Greatest!

A Recommendation

I just asked the people on the Etsy forums for some ideas on what to buy my mom. I did the dishes and came back to 3 pages of suggestions! That forum is fast!

Everyone being so eager to advertise has it's advantages though, because I found the perfect gift! I bought her these perfect earrings from Contrariwise. They are exactly my mom's style! Go check out
Contrariwise's shop by the way, she has many more pretty things.

My boyfriend Per and I spent the weekend with his grandparents at the other side of the country. When we came home earlier today I found out I sold a necklace. Then an hour later I got a paypal e-mail saying that someone bought $52.50 worth of things in my shop, and just now someone bought even more! That's 3 buyers in one day, with a total of almost $100!!!! I'm so excited! They all bought through though, so my Etsy store still seems a bit pointless, but a sale is a sale, right?

I also got another wholesale request! That's my second one, so I really need to get things in order soon so I can actually start wholesaling. (I guess that's not a word!)

Things seems to be going well, which makes me less worried about the failed exam, and the fact that I won't be able to have a career as a translator. Business woman it is ;)

Check out the awesome pattern on the skirt I bought on Friday by the way:

I'm so in love with both the pattern and the embroidery! I'd been eyeing the clothes made by Laura Lees at TopShop forever, but I could never afford one. Oh how I love sales!

Exam Results

Today was a bit of an urgh day. I wanted to sew Blythe dresses, but my sewing machine kept screwing up, so I didn't even finish one.

Then an hour ago my mom called, telling me I failed my exam again. This is the fifth time I failed. I think it's time to become a full time crafter and give up becoming a translator all together.

New Brooches, Necklaces, Earrings and More!

Here they are, the new items for my shop! Most of them are both at Etsy and, but not everything. So if you see something you'd like but it's not at Etsy, just visit my site. Or if you prefer buying through Etsy, I'll list it for you. (I'll have to add $0,20 then though!)

I spent all day doing housework, and adding these to my site. Tomorrow I'll finally have time to do what I wanted to do all week: Make Blythe dresses!

Tizz The Tool (Wo)Man

I wanted to make necklaces and earrings to match my poker chip brooches for a while. I thought I couldn't because I didn't have a drill, but yesterday I realised I do have one, my dad gave us this drill//automatic screwdriver when I moved here. Very useful! So I spent a good portion of the day drilling holes in poker chips. Tizz & power tools is not a great combination, but I managed to get it done.

The rest of the day was spent making some fantastic jewelry with them (or at least, I think it's fantastic), but it got too dark to take pictures, so those will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about it. It's so much more satisfying to make a necklace out of something you made yourself than with an existing charm.

I'm so excited! My Swiss penpal Karin e-mailed a HopeHope, a Swiss Fashion Blog/Magazine about my shop, and they featured it! You can find what they wrote about me here.

This is my second feature actually, a few weeks ago Cuteable wrote about me too.

Has anyone of you ever been featured? If yes, where? And how did they know about you? Did they find you, or did you contact them? Did it help your sales?

I have a thing for organizing. When things aren't organized in my apartment, I have a mess in my head aswell. I guess todays situation just proved that: I found myself pasting body butter on my face instead my Lush facemask. Sure, it's meant to make your skin soft and smooth too, but I doubt it would have quite the same effect as a facial mask for greasy skin.

Anyway, I decided it was time to get a little organized, so I fixed the mess in my box with craft supplies. Bells anyone?

Does anyone have MySpace? I just created one, so if you want to add me, feel free! You can find it here:

What are your experiences with designer/crafty MySpaces? Do they
help sales? I was a bit hesitant at first, because I don't want to annoy people by adding them (I hate bands who add me on my personal one!), but everyone told me it's a great way to promote, so I decided to go for it anyway. I added a bunch of people earlier today, and most of them added me back, so I guess they aren't as annoyed as I thought they would be?

To my horror I linked to by accident at first, which is a porn site. Whoops. It's strange, because "Tizzalicious" is never taken when I want to sign up somewhere! I'd better make sure I don't do this again, I don't think sending people to a porn site will increase my sales ;)

In other news: I added some more items to my Etsy store. I hope I'll make a sale soon!

Oh how I love Vistaprint! I just ordered 320 address labels/stickers, 10 invitations, 10 folded invitations, 25 business card magnets, 100 postcards and 10 other postcards!

Most of it with my logo, so I can use it for promotion and packaging. They say it's all free, but you do have to pay shipping. All in all it still works out cheap though, I paid €25 for all this together, which is not bad I think.

I also got a referral link. So if you haven't ordered from them before, but you'd like to, please click here, that way you will get 25% discount, and I will earn bonus points which I can use to get discount.

Wallet Metamorphose

I bought a plain red wallet at H&M yesterday. I decided to prettify it a little.
From boring to awesome:

What do you think?

Latest Items at Etsy

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my crafty blog! I decided to create a place to show my creative outburts, and shop updates! I am Tizz, a 25 year old crafty girl from Holland. With an apartment way too tiny to keep everything for myself, so about a year ago I decided it was time to start selling!

I enjoy all kinds of crafts, lik
e jewelry making, paper crafts (decoing and scrapbooking), sewing, etc.

I opened my web shop in November, you can find it at: And I recently created a shop on etsy aswell, to get a little more well-known. You can find the etsy shop at:

I primarily sell accessories and jewelry at the moment, but hopefully I'll be able to start selling clothing, bags and softies in the future.

I hope you'll enjoy my blog and shops!

Hugs & Hearts, Tizz
