Jumping Jump Rings & Other Crafty Pet Peeves

Don't you hate it when you drop a jump ring on the floor while creating something, and aren't able to find it again? Or when you are sewing and the thread keeps getting stuck?

Those two must be my biggest pet peeves. Do you have any? Or something craft related you really hate to do?

Aside from jumping jump rings and thread eating sewing machines, I have a passionate hate for editing my pictures. And realizing something is too small or big when I finished it. And tidying the mess my crafts sometimes create. I want things to be tidy, but somehow I always managed to get the floor scattered with every craft supply possible. Especially making decos makes the floor invisible.

Do you always tidy your work space when you finished making whatever you were making? Or do you embrace the mess and just leave it like that?

  3. As I type this, there is a messy stack of fabric, ribbons, glue, lace, and whatnot on my chair. :) Creativity brings out the little piggy in me. :) Otherwise, I am quite tidy!

  6. I always WANT to clean up my craft space. I always INTEND to clean it up... but sometimes... okay, most of the time , it only half gets cleaned up. At least I can still find what I'm looking for. :)

  7. Great bolg!

I always tidy my craft area after crafting.

And my crafting pet peeve is hunting for scissors…if I’m sewing there is a pair by the machine, on the iron board, the kitchen table (and I don’t usually work there), and one in my pocket. AND I still can’t find any! Grrr

  8. That's the worst part of crafting...it's messy. :)

I get pretty annoyed with scraps of paper. I never have the heart to toss them; I always want to save them for another project, but then they just accumulate into a big box of stuff! STUFF...too much STUFF. :D

  9. I always stub myself with needles whenever I work on something at night and I HATE it!!!(even with the sewing machine!) Needles are everywhere on the floor in my house and it drives my husband crazy(*-*;)..good thing that we don't have any kids or pets...

I want to clean my craft room all the time, but it's always on the messy side...(*-*;).

  10. I'm and "embracer" rather than a "tidier". It sucks, but it's just always been this way.

  11. There's a purple fire polished crystal somewhere in my dining room/craft room. I dropped it, I know I did... I've moved *everything* can't find it. There are a couple of boxes with open tops, I think its in there.

I clean a bit.... put beads back into containers, toss scraps... but the containers may be left out until I've decided to move on to a new color scheme.

  12. Haha those are my greatest pet peeves too! Gremlins steal my jump rings and my thread always knot up at the most crucial parts. Another one is losing my needle or having jumprings slipping off my pliers.

  15. Thank you for your sweet comment!

What a wonderful weblog you have, full with so many cute things! Yes and I can absolutely relate to this post! Last week I trying to make a little puppet from clay, which didn't work because the head kept falling of the neck which frustrated me really really much.... Why didn't it want a head?! After the 30th try, I just put the whole thing back in the jar with clay... So no puppets for me this week untill I'm calmed down hee hee...

And yes, pictures and sizes can be really frustrating as well!

  16. Ah, I'm totally a tidier, unless the project was just so draining that I can't spend another second with my eyes open... but that almost NEVER happens! :)

  17. Hello =) I love your Blythe and jewelry crafty things! They are so cute.
My working space is a tiny corner of my room by my big comfortable Ikea chair...for the most part it's tudy since I'm a neat-freak, but bits of thread have a habit of getting all over the place! Thread splitting and bunching up is definitely my pet peeve.

The craft/Blythe section of my blog is 'in company with sparkles.'
    love,

  18. I'm a mess lover - clutter helps me think! haha...but my biggest pet peeve in sewing is when I am trying to turn a tube of fabric right side out and it keeps getting stuck - it makes me want to scream! I think I need those tube turner thingys. haha...thanks for the nice comment about my Jack doll the other day! :)

  19. I always misplace my needle when I am sewing/embroidering something, and I always misplace my best pens when I am actually in the mood for drawing.

Similar to mushroommeadows, I cannot throw anything away, I always feel like I'll make something with it later, I rarely do and it's annoying because it just gets too cluttered in my VERY small crafting space.

  20. My worst pet peeve of crafting is dropping needles on the floor. It makes sewing even more difficult than it is already, and the needles usually cannot be found and end up in my foot! Ouch!
