New Packaging

How do you pack your sold items? For a while I just sent them in zip lock bags, but after seeing everyones cute packaging on Etsy, I decided it was time for me to change to a nicer way of packing too!

A few weeks ago I designed postcards to use for the packaging of my necklaces and earrings. A few days ago my package from Vistaprint arrived, so I could finally use the new packaging!

I really like how it turned out! There will be cellophane around it of course, like on the cake picture in the first picture.

I still need to find a good way to balance the left over chain in the back though. I got some advice on the Etsy forums, like putting the chain in a small zip lock bag, or wrap it in some tissue paper, and stick that to the back of the card. It doesn't really work though (maybe I do it wrong?), the chain just falls out of the bag/tissue paper! Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

In other news: I finished the little deco type wall art I was working on! I will take pictures of it after I posted this, and blog about it later.

  1. your blog is so well designed!! and I love the packaging you've done. I'd love to give my plushies extra cute packaging, but I can't decide if it's worth it...

  2. I think packaging is important too. We mostly sell t-shirts and one really cool thing that we do is actuall silkscreen a graphic onto colored tissue paper that we wrap around the shirt.

I think your new packaging is delightful! I have purchased a few jewelry items on Etsy and would have preferred to have pretty packaging, maybe it's because I'm a girl. Most jewelry customers are girls right?

  3. Great packaging!

It's tough to wrap up my strangely shaped plushies, so I focus on making interesting tags (punched myself, and stamped with stamps I carved myself).

It's always fun putting a personal touch on things :)
